Howard 'Kamau' Stanford

. . . . founded KSA in 2002, headquartered in Indianapolis, to answer the demand for excellence in Foodservice Consulting by Foodservice Professionals, Restaurateurs and Architects. Prior to its inception, Howard had established a distinguished clientele nationally and worldwide. After majoring in architecture at Howard University, he began his career in foodservice consulting and design with Romano/Gatland in 1981 and expanded his knowledge with a number of other top firms in the country such as Cini-Little International, Clevenger Frable, J. Nolan, Anthony Gaeta, ARA Interactive Design, Sherman Robinson Inc. and SSA.

His outstanding reputation for preparing explicate and complete contract documents from preliminary design through construction including specifications, details, shop drawing reviews and inspections has built longstanding client relationships by continually meeting their design needs and deadlines while simultaneously remaining within budget requirements. Howard has created high end domestic and commercial kitchens, nationally and internationally. He has designed and contributed to numerous high profile projects including corporate headquarters, hotels, healthcare facilities, correctional facilities, central kitchens, military and government facilities, K-12, colleges/universities, places of worship, convention centers, country clubs, stadiums, arenas and restaurants utilizing conventional, cook chill and/or sous vide preparation. 
Howard is the BCA Board Chair, a professional member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and held the positions of Foodservice Consultant Society International (FCSI) North American Division Chair and Director on the FCSI World Wide Board in 2005-2006, the first Native/African American  to hold both positions in the 50 year history of the organization worldwide.  KSA is one of two Native/African American owned and operated foodservice consulting firms in North America.
